What is the difference between a sectional and a banquette?
A sectional is a modular seating unit made of connected sections (typically L-shape, U-shape, or curved) that can stand freely and be reconfigured. A banquette is bench-style seating, usually installed against a wall or built into a booth, common in restaurants, bars, and hotel lounges. Johnson manufactures both to hospitality-grade specifications with the same construction standards.
Can Johnson build banquettes bolted to hotel restaurant walls or floors?
Yes. Johnson banquettes are available as free-standing modular units or as fixed installations with wall-mount and floor-anchor hardware. Fixed installations are common for restaurant booths, bar seating, and permanent banquette walls in hotel lobbies. Anchor hardware and mounting instructions ship with every fixed banquette order.
What is the lead time for hotel sectional orders?
Standard lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from spec approval for orders up to 50 sectional pieces or 100 linear feet of banquette. Larger installations of 100 plus units or complex custom configurations typically require 8 to 12 weeks. Rush production is available with an expedite fee for property openings and renovation deadlines.
Can sectionals be configured as L-shape, U-shape, or custom geometry?
Yes. Johnson sectionals are built to any configuration, including L-shape, U-shape, curved, wraparound, and asymmetric layouts. Send us a floor plan or CAD file and we manufacture the sectional to your exact room dimensions. Interlocking modular joinery hides seams between sections for a seamless visual finish.
What is COM fabric policy for banquette orders?
COM (Customer's Own Material) means you ship your brand-approved fabric to our factory, and we upholster your banquette to your exact specifications. Alternatively, select from our in-house commercial-grade fabric library. Both options include fire safety certification (California TB117 or CAL-133 upgrade for public spaces) and brand-standard compliance documentation.
Do you make outdoor or pool-area banquettes?
Yes. Johnson manufactures outdoor sectional and banquette configurations using marine-grade fabrics (Sunbrella, marine vinyl), outdoor-rated foam, and weather-resistant frame construction for pool decks, terraces, and open-air lounges. Marine-grade thread and UV-resistant welting ensure long-term outdoor durability.
What warranty does Johnson offer on sectional and banquette frames?
Johnson offers a 5-year commercial warranty on all sectional and banquette frames, including modular joinery. Fabric and cushions carry a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Sleeper mechanisms in sectional sleepers carry a 1-year warranty. Warranty documentation ships with every commercial order and is honored directly by our factory.
Can Johnson design custom banquette configurations for restaurant floor plans?
Yes. Johnson works with restaurant designers, F and B consultants, and hotel operators to spec custom banquette layouts from floor plans or CAD files. Common custom builds include curved wine bar banquettes, geometric booth clusters, wraparound corner seating, and multi-level banquette-with-table configurations. Design consultation is available before order confirmation.
