The first thing a client sits on says something.
Reception areas, executive lounges, coworking commons, and conference lobbies. Johnson manufactures contract-grade seating for corporate offices, professional practices, and flex workspaces. Custom-sized, built in your brand palette, and engineered for all-day use.
Every seat in the front of house.
Reception, waiting areas, executive lounges, collaboration zones, and cafe seating. The furniture clients see and employees use every day.
Reception and Waiting Seating
Lounge chairs, benches, and sofas for reception areas and waiting rooms. Contract-grade frames with your brand fabric, built for constant sit-and-stand traffic.
Executive Lounge Seating
Club chairs, wing chairs, and executive sofas for private offices, partner suites, and boardroom anterooms. Heavier scale, deeper seat, tailored detailing.
Collaboration Sectionals
Modular sectionals and soft seating for open collaboration zones and huddle areas. Reconfigurable as teams and layouts change.
Cafe and Banquette Seating
Banquettes and booth seating for office cafes, coffee bars, and informal meeting nooks. Custom lengths built to your floor plan.
Office Reupholstery
Refresh existing office seating during a rebrand or refit. New fabric in your updated palette on frames that are still structurally sound.
Your lobby is not a standard size.
Catalog furniture forces the room to accommodate the product. Because every Johnson piece is built to order, the seating fits the alcove, matches the brand palette, and scales to the ceiling height instead of the other way around.
Different workplaces. Same standard.
A law firm reception and a coworking commons need very different design language, but both need furniture that looks intentional and holds up to constant use.
The first impression furniture
Reception seating, waiting areas, and executive lounges built in your brand palette. Custom scale so the furniture reads correctly in a double-height lobby or a compact suite entrance.
All-day, all-member use
Coworking furniture takes hotel-level traffic from people who are not owners. Reinforced frames, replaceable cushions, and cleanable fabric for lounges, phone booths, and cafe zones.
Law, medical, and financial offices
Waiting room and consultation seating for practices where clients sit for extended periods. Cleanable performance fabrics, supportive cushioning, and a calm, non-institutional look.
We build what the drawing says.
Most of our corporate work comes through interior designers, architects, and purchasing agents specifying on behalf of a client. That relationship works because we are the factory: when a drawing calls for a sixty-two inch bench at a nineteen inch seat height in a specified COM, we build exactly that.
No catalog substitutions, no closest-available compromise, no explaining to the client why the delivered piece is two inches off the elevation. Send us the drawing, the fabric, and the finish schedule.
Trade pricing, sample support, and direct communication with the production floor are all part of our trade program. You talk to the people building the order, not a sales desk between you and the plant.
I specified a curved bench to wrap a structural column and every catalog vendor told me to redesign the lobby. Johnson asked for the radius. It arrived and it fit.
Contract furniture, answered.
The questions designers, facilities managers, and purchasing agents ask before specifying workplace seating. If your question is not answered here, we will respond within one business day.
What does contract grade actually mean?
Contract grade means the furniture is engineered for commercial rather than residential use: kiln-dried hardwood frames, reinforced joinery, high-density commercial foam, and upholstery rated for high double-rub counts and repeated cleaning. It also means fire compliance for public spaces and a commercial warranty. Residential furniture in an office lobby typically shows wear within a year.
Can Johnson build to our brand colors and finish schedule?
Yes. Every piece is built to order, so fabric, wood stain, metal finish, and welting are all specified per project. Send us your brand standards, a finish schedule, or physical samples and we match to them. You can also ship us your specified COM and we upholster in it directly.
Will you build from our drawings and elevations?
Yes. Send drawings, elevations, or a spec sheet and we manufacture to those dimensions: overall size, seat height, seat depth, arm height, and radius on curved pieces. We confirm every dimension before production so the delivered piece matches the elevation rather than approximating it.
Does office furniture need to meet fire code?
Lobbies, waiting areas, and shared amenity spaces are generally treated as public spaces. Johnson builds to California TB117-2013 as standard with CAL-133 upgrades available where the jurisdiction or occupancy classification requires it, plus FR fabric options meeting NFPA 701. Compliance certificates ship with every order.
Do you offer trade pricing for designers and purchasing agents?
Yes. Johnson runs a trade program with trade pricing, sample support, specification assistance, and direct communication with the production floor. It is built for designers, architects, and purchasing agents specifying on behalf of a client rather than buying for themselves.
What is the lead time for a corporate furniture order?
Standard lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from spec approval to shipment. Larger multi-floor or multi-site programs typically run 8 to 12 weeks with phased delivery. Because we manufacture domestically there is no port or customs exposure in that timeline. Rush production is available with an expedite fee.
Can you match seating we already have in the building?
Usually yes. Send us a sample piece, photographs with dimensions, or a fabric swatch and we build to match scale, seat height, and upholstery as closely as current materials allow. This matters when you are furnishing a new floor and want it to read as one continuous environment.
Is reupholstery worth it during an office rebrand?
Frequently. Contract-grade frames outlast fabric by many years, so a rebrand or refresh often only needs new upholstery in the updated palette rather than new furniture. It costs a fraction of replacement, keeps well-made frames out of the landfill, and turns around faster than a new order.
Send us the drawing. We will build to it.
Share your floor plan, finish schedule, and target install date. We will respond within one business day with a quote, fabric options, and a schedule that works with your construction timeline.
