Hotel Headboard Manufacturer, Built for Every Bed.
Custom-built upholstered, wall-mounted, wingback, and channel-tufted headboards for hotels, resorts, multifamily, and senior living. As a hotel headboard manufacturer since 1947, we build to your room spec, brand standard, and mounting type in South Carolina.
Commercial Headboard Manufacturer for Every Guestroom Configuration.
Wall-mounted for renovation flexibility, attached for classic construction, wingback and tufted for design-forward properties. Every configuration custom-sized to your bed frame, mounting height, and brand standard.
Wall-Mounted Upholstered
The renovation favorite. Mounts to the wall behind the bed so the mattress and base move independently for housekeeping access. Any width, any height, any brand-approved fabric.
Traditional Attached
Attached directly to the bed frame in the classic residential style. Solid feel, guests never notice a gap. Ships as a matched set with the base.
Wingback Headboards
Wrapped side panels create a sense of enclosure at the head of the bed. Design-forward for boutique hotels, resort suites, and premium guestrooms.
Channel-Tufted
Vertical or horizontal channel tufting for a tailored, upscale look. Popular for full-service and lifestyle brand programs where the headboard is the design focal point.
Wood-Framed Headboards
Hardwood frame surrounding an upholstered center panel. Ties into casegood packages and works well in coastal, lodge, and heritage-brand properties.
Full-Wall and Extended Cornice
Extend beyond the bed for a hospitality-scale statement wall. Optional integrated cornice, valance, or nightstand tie-in for a fully coordinated headwall.
Hospitality Headboard Manufacturer with Commercial Construction.
Kiln-dried hardwood frames, high-density commercial foam, fire-rated fabric options, and brand-standard construction verification. Not residential furniture rebadged for hotels.
Headboards for hospitality, multifamily, and senior living.
The specification changes with the property type. A boutique hotel headboard, a student housing wall-mount, and a memory-care panel all look different and are built differently.
Hotels, Resorts, and Extended Stay
Brand-standard construction for Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, and Wyndham family properties. Every order ships with FF and E compliance documentation for direct submission.
Apartments and Student Housing
Wall-mounted headboards for turnkey furnished units. Reinforced frames and cleanable fabric for turnover environments where furniture takes the hardest use.
Assisted Living and Memory Care
Rounded edges, moisture-barrier construction, antimicrobial fabric options, and specified heights that work with adjustable clinical beds and safe transfer requirements.
The first thing a guest sees is the headwall. Design accordingly.
Every guestroom photograph, every listing, every review image centers the bed. The headboard is not a background element, it is the focal point of the room, and cheap headboards read as cheap rooms.
Because Johnson manufactures rather than resells, every headboard is built to your exact bed width, mounting height, fabric, and brand standard. When a property renovates in phases, phase two matches phase one, because your specification stays on file.
We work directly with designers, purchasing agents, and brand FF and E teams. Send the spec sheet, drawing, or fabric schedule. We build to it.
We needed 240 headboards to match the brand refresh spec, and we needed them before the reopening date. Johnson hit the delivery. The rooms photograph better than the design boards.
Hotel headboard procurement, answered.
The questions purchasing teams and FF and E designers ask before specifying headboards. If your question is not answered here, we will respond within one business day.
What is the difference between wall-mounted and attached hotel headboards?
Wall-mounted headboards attach to the wall behind the bed, so the mattress and base move independently for housekeeping and cleaning. This is the most common configuration in modern hotel builds and renovations because it simplifies mattress replacement and gives designers freedom on width. Attached headboards ship as a matched set with the base and feel more traditionally residential. Both are commercial grade at Johnson.
Does Johnson build headboards to hotel brand standards?
Yes. Johnson manufactures headboards to brand-standard specifications for Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Holiday Inn, IHG, Wyndham, and Choice Hotels programs. Every order includes brand-standard construction verification and FF and E compliance documentation prepared for direct submission.
Can we send our own fabric (COM) for hotel headboards?
Yes. Ship your brand-approved fabric to our South Carolina factory and we upholster your headboards to your exact specifications. Or choose from our in-house commercial-grade fabric library with fire compliance certification and warranty coverage.
Do hotel headboards need to meet fire code?
Guestrooms and public spaces have jurisdiction-specific fire code requirements. Johnson builds to California TB117-2013 as standard, with CAL-133 upgrades available where required for higher-occupancy classifications, plus FR fabric options meeting NFPA 701. Fire safety certificates ship with every order.
What custom sizes can Johnson build?
Any dimension. Standard Twin, Full, Queen, King, and California King, plus non-standard widths for wall-mounted programs where the headboard extends past the mattress. Custom heights for extended cornice and full-wall configurations. Send the drawing, we manufacture to it.
What is the lead time for a full-property headboard order?
Standard lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from spec approval. Full-property programs of 200 plus rooms typically run 8 to 12 weeks with phased delivery matched to your renovation schedule. Rush production is available for reopening deadlines with an expedite fee.
Can Johnson match our existing headboards for a partial replacement?
Usually yes. Send us a sample piece, photographs with dimensions, and a fabric swatch, and we match construction, scale, and upholstery as closely as current materials allow. This matters when you are replacing damaged units mid-cycle and need the room to still read consistently.
What warranty does Johnson offer on hotel headboards?
Johnson offers a 5-year commercial frame warranty and a 1-year warranty on fabric and cushioning against manufacturing defects. Because Johnson is the manufacturer rather than a distributor, warranty claims are honored directly by our factory.
